| On Saturday, May 11, 2013, eight Village Academy Lower School students competed in the First Ohio K-12 Chinese Speech and Writing Contest at the Confucius Institute at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Tennis Team, winning the Village Cup on April 27 with a final score of 99!The MS Girls 4x200m Relay Team won the event at the Nelsonville Invitational with a time of 2:00.3 on April 26 and broke three records! Congratulations to senior James Pyne, who won the Lima Symphony 2013 Young Artists Competition! This regional competition promotes growth and experience in music performance. On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien visited the Village Academy campus to speak to Upper School students about social media responsibility and cyberbullying. At the 12th annual Village Academy Jazz Night Out event on Friday, March 8, 2013, Village Academy senior Soon Ho Kwon played a handmade danso flute, a Korean instrument traditionally made from bamboo. Soon created, tested, and performed with this instrument made from PVC pipe, which is of his own design. Congratulations to Griffin swimmer Reed McGraw who advanced to the OHSAA State Championships! He competed on February 21-22, 2013, in Canton, OH in the Breaststroke and Individual Medley events.
