The 12,000 square-foot Arts Conservatory, opened in 2003, was designed based on a student-driven need for a dedicated space for arts education. Although Village Academy has always incorporated fine arts programming into the School’s curriculum, the Arts Conservatory provides students with a dedicated facility providing a greater outlet for artistic and creative exploration.
The structure itself incorporates historical features that represent the architectural history of the Village of Powell, while providing students with a cutting-edge facility for visual and performing arts education. The floor plan includes rehearsal areas for the instrumental and vocal music programs, as well as individual practice rooms. The Arts Conservatory also boasts professional-grade dance, drama, and recording studios, an art gallery, a black box theater, and a visual arts studio complete with a kiln room, woodshop, photography dark room, and a state-of-the-art graphics lab.
