The Visual Arts Program at Village Academy allows students to experience integrated hands-on techniques while learning about diverse cultures and customs, the elements of design, art history, and more while exploring multiple arts disciplines.
Students are able to study such subjects as digital photography, classic film photography using the school darkroom to manually develop film, ceramics, sculpture, media technology, drawing, painting, graphic design, web design, and woodworking.
Arts education begins at the pre-kindergarten level, and is an important part of the curriculum through the students’ upper school years. The program provides rich artistic experiences while exploring the passion in each student. Students who select the Visual/Performing Arts Graduation Track have increased individual studio time and work toward a completed portfolio of creative samples as a part of their endorsement requirements.
Visual and Performing Arts are cross-curricular programs at Village Academy. Students study the arts as an outlet for their creativity, while also learning about the relationship between these disciplines to world history and current events. This approach promotes a deeper appreciation of the arts, and an understanding of the impact the arts continue to have on the global community.
Village Academy admits students of any race, color, creed, religion, sex, or national origin to all privileges, rights, programs, and activities.
