Village Academy provides a variety of opportunities for students to perform in drama, dance, and music and believes so strongly in the arts that an entire 12,000 sq ft Arts Conservatory was built on campus to support the program.
In addition to class drama performances, the Village Academy Theatre Department has a number of yearly productions including winter and spring performances, and an biannual all-school production. Past productions include: A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, Oliver!, The Crucible, I Hate Hamlet, A Christmas Carol, OTMA, A Few Good Men, and The Wizard of Oz. Upper School students have opportunities to perform for regional, state, and national audiences such as the annual Ohio Thespian State Conference, and have worked with renowned organizations such as CATCO. At the highest level, students can audition for the Performance Dance Ensemble, where advanced dancers perform in school productions, at the Powell Festival, and at state competitions. The Village Academy Dance Director is a dancer and choreographer who has worked in the off season in both New York and Los Angeles.
Students involved in the Music Program at Village Academy have many opportunities to perform at school and community events.
