Families interested in pursuing application to Village Academy are encouraged to apply between October and March for admission the following academic year, provided space is available. And while the Admissions Department may accommodate later applications, student-driven scheduling is completed in June for the following academic year, and some elective courses may be filled.
The Village Academy admission process involves a collaborative effort between the VA administration and the applicant’s family with input from the student’s current school. Once the Admissions Office receives all required documents, and the parent interview and student assessment are completed, the admission committee can meet to review the application, after which applicants are notified of the decision.
Though searching for the right school can be a daunting task, Village Academy strives to make the process as congenial and informative as possible.
The following is a step-by-step guide to the admissions process:
Before submitting an application, prospective families should plan to attend an Open House or take a personal tour of the campus. During the tour, you will be able to observe classes in session, explore the School’s facilities, and learn about the Village Academy approach to academics, student life, the arts, community service/leadership and athletics. These tours typically last about an hour and a half, and will give you insight into the exceptional value of a Village Academy education.

All documentation should be translated into English. The originals must be submitted along with the translations.

As soon as the application has been completed, a representative from the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule the official admissions visit for the prospective student, as well as the parent interview. Applicants are required to spend an entire day visiting with their current peer group.
On the day of the visit, faculty members will evaluate the prospective student’s ability to interact with peers in the classroom setting, and he or she will participate in assessment testing. Additionally, parents will be interviewed by the Admissions team.

Once the Admissions Office has received all required components of the application for admission and the applicant has completed the visit and assessment day, the Admissions Committee will meet to review the file. The committee, comprised of faculty and administrators, will review all components of the applicant’s file, and will make a recommendation. Admissions decisions for kindergarten through grade 12 applicants who intend to enroll at the beginning of the following school year will be sent by mail beginning February 1.

Students accepted into the Village Academy program must submit an enrollment deposit in order to reserve their space in the appropriate grade level. Please refer to the letter of acceptance for details relating to this topic.
